6 Red Hot Tips To Get Your Articles Read

1. Use short paragraphs.

When your paragraphs are too long, the words have a way of getting jumbled in the mind of the reader. When an article looks confusing just by looking at it, a reader may simply deicde it is too much work to read and skip to something else. Remember, paragraphs can be a single sentence, sometimes even a single word!

2. Make use of numbers or bullets.

Numbers and bullets can make it easy for a point to stand out, therefore easier for readers to remember and digest. Since each point, tip, guide or method is started with a bullet or point, readers will know that this is where the tips start. You can also try formatting your bullets and numbers with indentations so that your article won’t look like a single block of square paragraphs. Adding a little bit of flair and pizzazz to your article shape certainly won’t hurt your chances of being read.

3. Use Sub-headings to divide your paragraphs.

Not only does this help to break up a long article into manageable portions, it also helps to keep the focus of your reader on what each section is about. It forms a good guide to help your readers get the gist of what the next few paragraphs will be about.

4. Provide a good attention-grabbing title or header.

If your title can entice a person’s curiosity you’re already halfway towards your goal of getting a person to read your article. Use statements and questions that utilise keywords that people are looking for. Provide titles or headers that describe your article’s content in a short and concise manner.

5. Keep them interested from the start to the finish.

Use real life situations that can be adopted by the reader in your opening paragraph. Use good descriptions and metaphors to drive your point home, but be careful not to over do it. Reinforcing your examples with graphic metaphors and similes will make it easy for your readers to imagine what you are talking about.

6. Utilise figures when necessary and not just ordinary and insipid statements.

Using specific facts and figures can strengthen your article because it makes it authoritative. Again, don’t overdo this or you may make your article too formal. Your facts and figures should flow in light and easy.
